Tile Heaven in a Small Bathroom
A bathroom renovation from Imogen @roundaboutceramics
This bathroom makeover was all about creating a simple, clean, and calming space that still packed in smart storage and style. Keeping the bath was non-negotiable for Imogen, so the whole layout was designed around it. The result? A bright and airy simple space, that Imogen can enjoy for years to come.
Before
A dark, dated space that lacked any storage.
After
A bright and modern room with ample storage.
What made you want to renovate your bathroom?
"We bought our home in February 2024, and right away we knew the bathroom would be our first renovation project. The bathroom is one of the most important spaces in a home. It should feel calming and comfortable, somewhere you actually want to spend time. Ours had leaky taps, plumbing issues, and zero storage, so updating it was a top priority."
What was the brief for the reno?
"We wanted a simple, clean, and light bathroom with functional storage and a calming atmosphere. Keeping the bath was a must, so we designed the space around it. It's a fairly small bathroom, but we knew that with the right choices, we could make it feel more open."
What inspired your colour choices?
"Since it's north facing, we chose white tiles and a large mirror to reflect as much light as possible and create a brighter, airier feel. I love using pops of colour against a mostly white background, which is why we chose a powder blue back-to-wall WC unit. We also added wood textures to bring in a natural, soothing element."
What’s your favourite part about your new bathroom?
"Our favourite part of the new bathroom is the freestanding vanity unit in Swiss oak. We love how much storage it offers while still looking beautiful. The combination of a drawer and cupboards is incredibly practical, we keep all our everyday essentials in the drawer, and store other bathroom items in the cupboards. It keeps the space neat, organised, and clutter-free."
