The R2 Bathrooms Interior Design Challenge
We’ve invited three interior designers to unleash their creativity by incorporating the R2 Platform furniture collection into fresh, inspiring bathroom concepts.
Available in both floor-standing and wall-mounted styles, Platform combines elegance with practicality, offering options such as different handle finishes, ceramic or countertop basins, and open storage for flexible, personalised layouts.
Each designer has been tasked with showcasing innovative uses of the range, experimenting with layouts, materials, and colour schemes to enhance both style and usability, while delivering a complete bathroom design that thoughtfully integrates furniture, WC, shower, bath (or both), basins, mirrors, brassware, storage, accessories, lighting, and functional features — all within a £1,000 budget for tiles, décor, paint, and additional materials.
Emma Gurner's Moroccan Paradise
As the first designer to take on our Interior Design Challenge, Emma Gurner brings her trademark creativity and international influence to the bathroom space. Known for her bold use of colour and playful touches, Emma combines patterned flooring with elegant fixtures to create a scheme that feels both characterful and refined. Her design balances personality with practicality, using joyful accents alongside timeless details for a bathroom that feels uplifting and unique. With her distinctive mix of fun, flair and sophistication, Emma sets the tone for an inspiring series of bathroom transformations.

With a range of options for floor-standing or wall mounted units, finishes to adapt to any bathroom aesthetic and both ceramic and countertop basins. I love the design of the fluted Platform unit. It's classic, but it has an interesting texture.

I’ve had great fun working with R2 to create a really playful bathroom scheme. It shows that bathrooms can be full of personality, not just purely practical spaces

The Platform range was great to choose from because we had so many options for finishes and worktops.
