Shona carried out a loft extension in her family home, created a compact new shower room. Although small, she was determined it would feel light, bright and a little bit luxe. Working with us, she paired smart, space-saving pieces with feminine design choices - fluted panelling, soft pinks and blues, and elegant brushed brass - to craft a stylish, sophisticated retreat.
What was your brief for the renovation?
"We have just completed a loft extension, creating an additional floor with two bedrooms and a shower room. Although the bathroom space was tiny, we were determined it would feel light and bright, even a little bit luxe. Working with R2 bathrooms was a dream - selecting pieces like a wall-hung WC, the Stealth illuminated mirror and the slimline Paragon cabinetry meant we were able to really free up floor space and create the illusion of the room being much larger than it is, without sacrificing any storage or functionality."
What inspired your colour and design choices?
"We wanted to create somewhere feminine and sophisticated, where it would be a treat to get ready. We chose elegant, fluted panelling for the walls to add texture and visual interest. Colour drenching it all in a very pale shade of pink called 'Lipgloss' added a sense of fun, softening the edges and allowing the brushed brass accents to shimmer and shine. The pink and red tiles add a pop of colour that works brilliantly with the brass shower."

What made you choose Paragon?
"A brand new room in an old house can feel a bit out of place but the Paragon furniture, with its mid century inspired design, helps strike the perfect balance. It feels fresh and modern but with enough vintage vibes to give it a timeless look that goes perfectly with the retro, checkerboard tiles. It also offers a huge amount of storage, held up by those adorable little brass legs."
What's your favourite thing about your new bathroom?
"I love the way everything in this bathroom works so well together but if I had to pick one piece it would be the Stealth illuminated mirror. It's an exquisite example of form and function - not only does it look beautiful, it also provides the best possible lighting - my makeup has never looked so good"
